Activated Carbon Software

SPECIAL SOFTWARE OFFER – $6,599 for a complete set of PACS Software

VOC Vapor-Phase Carbon Adsorption with Relative Humidity – $1590

PACS has developed an easy-to-use, low-cost Microsoft Windows® software program to calculate activated carbon (AC) loading capacity from the air concentration at equilibrium. This program also evaluates the relative humidity effect on AC equilibrium loading capacity. This software database contains 818 volatile organic compounds (VOC) of interest to regulators and solvent recovery applications. This program is useful for quick AC feasibility, evaluation, predictions, performance, loading at regeneration, relative competitive adsorption of different organics, and expected breakthrough compounds. The VOC Vapor-Phase Carbon Adsorption with Relative Humidity Software calculates the equilibrium AC capacity for a VOC using the Polanyi model. A user simply enters a known or estimated VOC Vapor-phase concentration and the relative humidity and the software calculates loading in grams of adsorbate per 100 grams of carbon for a wide influent VOC concentration range.

Isotherm Analysis – $750

This program complies with ASTM Standard test method D 3860-89a. A user simply enters experimental data into the program and the Freundlich graph is automatically plotted and the ultimate capacity of the carbon for the adsorbates is interpreted.

Aqueous- and Vapor-Phase Carbon Adsorption Software – $3290

PACS has developed an easy-to-use, low-cost combined Aqueous and Vapor-Phase Carbon Adsorption Program. It is designed for use under a Microsoft Windows® operating system. The user first selects an aqueous or vapor AC application. The program uses the Polanyi model and a given correlation curve to determine the activated carbon adsorption capacity. The user needs to know the molecular weight, density, refractive index, and solubility, or saturated vapor pressure of the compounds. The PACS program can calculate vapor and aqueous capacities for a single component or up to eight multiple miscible liquid components. This program helps to provide AC feasibility. If you know the chemical bonds in a molecule, this program can estimate the refractive index of the molecule. You can also add new equations or use the provided equations (these equations options are given) to this program which mathematically expresses the adsorption phenomenon.

This program is recommended as a companion for the PACS software program "VOC Vapor-Phase Carbon Adsorption Software with Relative Humidity." The program is most useful for cases involving competitive adsorption or cases when the adsorbate of interest has little empirical adsorption data available. PACS can run these programs for you as a consulting service.

Compound Database – $590

A computerized database of chemical/physical -compound properties is now available. This database is useful with the above "PACS Aqueous- and Vapor-Phase Carbon Adsorption Software" program. DB includes water solubility, vapor pressure, refractive index, and liquid density.

ASTM Particle Sizing Analysis – $590

This PACS software program complies with ASTM Standard test method D 2862-92. A user simply puts the weights from each sieve in the sieve stack into this program to have it generate a two page report. ASTM tabular data, graph & interpretation, mean particle diameter, effective size and uniformity coefficient are provided.

Refractive Index Estimator – $192

Glossary of Carbon Terms – $58
