Most businesses and many individuals own or use intellectual property (IP) of some type. This one-day course will hep you maximize your IP benefits and minimize its cost. The applicable forms of intellectual property include patent, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets. Issues concerning intellectual property may arise in various matters, including among other things, product development, acquisition and protection, product marketing, website development, employment and independent contractor agreements, asset purchases, and joint development agreements. Public and on-site courses are available.
David G. Oberdick, Esq. will be discussing how each of the four primary forms of intellectual property — patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets — can be protected and what associated issues arise as they are encountered by companies and individuals.
Mr. Oberdick is of Counsel to Meyer, Unkovic & Scott. He concentrates his practice on intellectual property law including: patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, software and technology licensing, computer law, e-commerce and related internet contracts, warranty/privacy issues, intellectual property litigation and related business transactions. Mr. Oberdick’s litigation experience in the intellectual property area has included infringement and misappropriation litigation, restrictive covenants, licensing disputes, injunction proceedings, and related breach of contract issues. Majoring in Physics and Astronomy, Mr. Oberdick received his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Pittsburgh Law School.
