PACS Course Number 1002
9 AM to 5 PM
At an ever-increasing rate companies are reducing their technical staff and relying more on operations people to operate, maintain and manage thier cooling water treatment systems. Often that leaves the plant without access to the in-depth technology needed for proper maintenance of their cooling water systems. This seminar discusses the destructive forces that cause industrial, institutional or commercial facility cooling water systems to malfunction or function inefficiently. The lack of proper cooling can increase unexpected downtime, interfere with production or result in poor overall performance.
This seminar is designed to help manage and prevent water-related cooling water system failures. The seminar provides a thorough grounding in cooling tower issues and the fundamentals of heat transfer. Also discussed is water chemistry and crucial calculations, besides rules-of-thumb. Discussions also cover corrosion inhibitors, scale/deposit control agents, microbiological control, and monitoring. Cooling tower performance will improve with accurate monitoring and data interpretation techniques.
Some topics covered: Corrosivity of water, Water treatment methods, Boiler treatments, Types of cooling systems, Chemical treatment programs, Monitoring
This seminar will provide insight into today’s technology, how to better understand and control problems affecting system performance so that implementation of the most effective corrective action can be undertaken.
This two-day course is held twice a year close to Pittsburgh International Airport; it is also scheduled regularly in major cities. PACS provides other courses on activated carbon and allied topics.
