The International Activated Carbon Conference and Courses and the Sampling, On-Site Analysis and Sample Preparation Conference and Courses have expanded their scopes. In upcoming conferences, PACS will provide a forum for individuals who want to be a part of specific "Application and User Groups". Individuals who are interested in volunteering time to provide the leadership for a specific group should contact for more information. Application and User groups are open to all. The intent of these groups are to increase communication and improve performance by those who participate in their user group. Present user group leaders are: David Mazyck - "Taste and Odor Control in Drinking Water"; Teresa Bandosz - "Hydrogen Sulfide Odor Control" ; Henry Nowicki - "Test Methods for the Activated Carbon Industry"; George Alther - "Organoclay Sorbent Materials"; Joules "Solvent Recovery Adsorptive Systems"; and Wayne Schuliger "Design of Activated Carbon Systems". Presently leaders are needed for groups titled: "Sorbent Manufacturers", "Arsenic Removal from Drinking Waters", "Environmental Sampling", "On-Site Measurements", and many others.

PACS has positions available for professional scientific service providers, and has provided these services for over 30 years. PACS will accept proposals for short courses, consultants, conference directors for focused conference subjects, and other needed services. New ideas are welcomed.
